Internships: Any Internship
Internships Winter/Spring 2010 - Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (San Jose, CA)
Ever wondered what it exactly takes to have our Guests enjoy an experience here at HP Pavilion? Learn all the different areas that it takes to put on a great experience, show, event, or game, by being an intern within our organization!
We offer full-time college students the opportunity to work as unpaid interns while earning college credit. Our internships enable students to "roll up their sleeves" and truly learn how a professional sport franchise, public facilities, and our many various departments operate from the inside out. We expect our interns to take ownership of their internship and conduct their own research and utilize our open door policy by speaking or interviewing other members of our team in order to learn about different positions and what they entail. We encourage our interns to take an active role within the company.
Why should you become an intern for Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment?
Our internship program and our company expose interns to a variety of tasks. Interns will learn not only about a professional sports team, but will have the opportunity to learn about entertainment (concerts, Ice Shows, Circus and other events) as well. SVSE is the most well-rounded Sports & Entertainment company in the Bay Area.
What else does SVSE have to offer besides a premier NHL hockey team?
SVSE operates HP Pavilion, so there are opportunities to learn the operational side of an Arena in addition to the business aspect. SVSE is also involved in many other entities outside of NHL hockey, including the SAP Open and Memphis Tennis and Racquet Club (Tennis), Fight Night at the Tank (Boxing), Strikeforce (Mixed Martial Arts), Worcester Sharks (AHL Hockey), plus 3 Bay Area Sharks Ice locations.
Our requirements for all of our internships are the following:
- Must be enrolled in college and eligible to receive credit for the internship
- Live in the San Jose Area
- Prefer a Junior or Senior in College or equivalent experience
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and events as needed for approximately 20 hours per week
